Udupi: Accidents on national highway - Traffic affected

Udupi, Jul 27: Traffic was choked at various spots along national highway 66 here on Saturday July 26 following accidents at Udayavar, Katapady and Guddeangadi.


An auto rickshaw and a bus collided at Tekaltota, Katapady, while in Udayavar a serial accident took place between a tanker, an auto rickshaw and a car. At Guddeangadi, a tanker rammed into a car.

The accidents took place between 3.30 and 4.30 pm, as a result of which traffic on the national highway was jammed. In addition, some of the vehicles worsened the situation by trying to push through the traffic from all directions.

On receiving information, ASI Purushotham of Katapady police station and other police personnel arrived at the spot and after some efforts, restored the traffic.

    Things like this could merely be avoided if we set our safety as a priority. Let us be concern with our safety. Be alert and witty when it comes to protecting ourselves. My friend told me with this panic button service and it fits in my security purposes need. I feel protected all the time because I know in a single press of a panic button massive response or help from my family or 911 will come.
