Mangalore: KNS conducts Inter-Parish singing competition

Mangalore, July 29: Konkani Natak Sabha®(KNS) Mangalore organized the 51st Inter Parish Singing Competition for children of different parishes of Mangalore Diocese at Don Bosco Hall here on Sunday July 27.
 
The competition was held in two parts - out of city parishes and city parishes in the categories of 5-10 years and 10-15 years. 88 competitors from seven parishes took part in the out of city parishes for the solo, duet and mixed group. Nithyadhar Nagar Parish bagged the first place, Madanthyar Parish won the second and Gurpur Parish the third.


Among the city parishes, 95 competitors from ten parishes took part in solo, duet and mixed group. Cordel Parish bagged the first place, Cascial Parish the second and Valencia Parish the third place.
 
Rony Crasta, Alwyn D’Cunha and Anitha Rodrigues were the judges. Fr Cyprian Peter D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Raymond D’Cunha and Jery Pinto compered while convener Felix Sequeia introduced the judges. General secretary Sunil Menezes proposed vote of thanks.
