Mangalore, Aug 1: “Dakshina Kannada Zilla Kannada Sahitya Parishad will organize the 19th District Kannada Sahitya Sammelana at Polali in Bantwal Taluk on August 2, 3,” said Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, president, Dakshina Kannada Sahitya Parishad.
He was addressing the press at the DC office on Thursday July 31.
Kalkura said, “Renowned computer scientist Dr Kinnikambala Padmanabha Rao will preside over the 19th District Kannada Sahitya Sammelan.”
On this occasion, the Vidwath Samman will be conferred on Kodimajalu Ananth Upadhya, Nui Shrinivas Nayak, Sadhananda Suvarna, Dr M Prabhakar Joshi, Agari Raghuram Baghawath, Professor A V Navuda, and Dr Palthady Ramakrishna Achar.
P Jayaram Bhat, managing director, Karnataka Bank, will honour them. This felicitation will be held on Saturday August 2 at around 9.15 am.
Dr Vasanthmadhav K G, Thirumala Venkatramana Yakshagana Sangha, Bantwal, P Madhav Bhat, Sena Poojary, Monthu Rodrigues, Kukra Madivala, Mohan Ammunje, Pathala Venkatramana Bhat, Dr Dejjappa Dalodi, Rons Bantwal, Shanaz, Vijay Harvin, Mulya Sham Bhat, Dr Ismail, Kusappa Nalike, IK Boluvaru, Girish Baradhwaj, Moodumane Ramesh Rao, Karnooru Mohan Rao, Dr Asha Ballal, and Umesh Rao Yekkuru will be felicitated for serving society in various fields.
The theme of the conference is ‘Jeevana Kramada Pallata Mathu Maulya Rakshaneya Savalu’ (Variation in Lifestyle and Challenges in Value Protection). This year, the programme will be organized in a unique way. There will be a poet’s meet, discussions, and cultural programmes. All ready various committees have been formed.
Programmes will be held on various stages like Polali Sheenappa Hegde Conference Hall, Polali Shankaranaryana Shastri Stage, Badakabailu, and Rajarajeshwari Temple premises.
