New Delhi, Sep 15: A man detained on charges of theft was seriously injured on Thursday when he tried to allegedly immolate himself inside a police station in West Delhi locality.

Mahinder (35) suffered serious burn injuries in the incident, which happened inside Punjabi Bagh police station on Thursday evening, police said.

Mahinder, a resident of Punjabi Bagh, has been admitted to Sanjay Gandhi hospital.

According to police, Mahinder poured kerosene, kept in a container in the station, on himself.
