Army dogs uncover two bodies in Kashmir

Jammu, Sep 9 (IANS): Army dogs have unearthed the bodies of an elderly woman and a child buried under snow and mud in the flood ravaged Kashmir Valley, the military said Tuesday.

Two Swiss Mountain dogs made the discovery under a mudslide in village Babbar in Reasi district.

The dogs -- Blazer and Bobby -- which specialise in search and rescue operations searched an area around 100 by 150 meters with their handlers.

Once they confirmed the presence of human bodies under the mud, the area was dug up to five feet, resulting in the recovery of the two victims -- a 70-year-old woman and a four-year-old child.
