Rajaka Sangha: Kick-2014, football tourney held

Mumbai, Sep 27: Youngsters of our Rajaka Sangha from all the zones actively participated in the Football tournament organised by Sports Cell in association with Yuvarajaka and Central Zone recently at Chheda Nagar Gymkhana, Chembur.

Eight teams played in league matches and based on the points, Dombivli’s Strikers A and Navimumbai’s New Bombay Tigers teams entered the finals. A tough game between two strong teams went on till a free kick level to declare Dombivli Strikers A as winners. With the runners' up title to New Bombay Tigers, the Best Player of the Tournament was bagged by Amit Salian from Dombivli. 14-year-old Harsh Gujaran from Central Zone was judged as Most Promising Player of the tournament.

Under the guidance of Sports Cell chairman B K Vijaynath, vice chairmen Raju Salian and Shashank Salian, advisors Ashok Kunder, Anil Salian and Umesh Salian, referees from MDFA Nery D’Souza and Kamble the entire tournament was organised successfully.

Raju Salian had sponsored all the trophies and other prizes were sponsored by Tanvi Sunil Salian, Pixel Printers and Dinesh Kunder. A large number of well wishers and donors supported to make the event a grand success.

The tournament was inaugurated and concluded in the presence of Sangha’s president Satish Salian and the entire managing committee members, zonal heads and wing heads.
