Saraswath Cultural and Recreation Center begins Navarathri celebrations

Mumbai, Sep 27: Saraswath Cultural and Recreation Center, a subsidiary of Gowda Saraswath Brahman Sabha Dahisar-Borivli (GSB Sabha) set in motion its annual Navarathri Festival recently.

The seventh annual Navarathri festival was set in motion with chief priest of Kashi Math Sudheendra Swamy's blessing and Kashi Math junior
priest Samyameendra Theertha Swamiji's grace at the Madhavendra hall at Saraswath Cultural and Recreation Centre grounds near Dahisar east N L Complex. The hall was decorated with attractive decorations with a grand podium. The deity was decorated with Hariguru golden sheath and gold oblation palki.

After different worships were held by Vedamoorthi Ullas Bhat and group of priests under the guidance of Vedamoorthi Laxminarayana Bhat and set the festival in motion, the Devi deity was worshiped by Durga Havana, Pushpalankara Seve, Panchanaivedya Mahabhoga, Rangapooje, Madhyahna Pooje, Durga Namaskara, Deeparadhane and Tulabhara.

Sundheendra Nagar Bhajan mandali presented Bhajans and Swarajyothirmayi troupe sang hymns. The Dandiyaras from evening till night added attraction to the programme.

GSB Sabha Dahisar Borivli convener G D Rao, co-convener Saguna K Kamath, president K R Mallya, assistant executive president Mohini S
Shanbhog, honorary chief secretary M Udaya Padiyar, honorary treasurer Mohan A Kamath, joint secretary Sanoor Manohar V Kamath, youth wing's Shivanand Bhat and hundreds of devotees were present. All of them participated in the devotion of Durgotsava. Vedamoorthi Manjunath
Puranik distributed Theertha Prasada. Padmanabha Bhandarkar performed Tulabhara with coconuts.

The deity was decorated with different attires during the nine days of Navarathri. The devotion of Mahalaxmi Devi was held. Women's wing held yellow vermilion programme. Annapoorneshwari Devi will be worshiped and Durgaparameshwari Devi worship will be held on September 28. Several religious rituals will be held everyday from Sunday September 28 till October 3. Sharada Devi will be worshiped on October 3, Vijayadashami and will be dissolved in the evening.

Saraswath Cultural Center honorary chief secretary M U Padiyar and joint secretary Sanooru Manohar Kamath have requested members of GSB community, Kannadiga and Konkani devotees to participate in the programmes and be worthy of Sridevi's grace.
