26/11 Martyr Hemant Karkare's Wife Kavita Karkare in Coma

MUMBAI, Sep 29 (PTI): Kavita Karkare, widow of former Maharashtra Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) chief Hemant Karkare who died fighting terrorists during the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai, has been admitted to a hospital and is critical. According to news agency Press Trust of India (PTI), Mrs Karkare suffered brain haemorrhage and slipped into coma.

"Kavita Karkare sustained a brain haemorrhage because of which she has been taken to Hinduja Hospital at Mahim on Saturday. Her condition is critical and she is in coma. Her treatment is underway," reported PTI, quoting a police officer.

Her late husband Hemant Karkare, former Maharashtra ATS chief, died defending Mumbai in the November 26, 2008 attacks.

He was killed on the night of 26/11 near Cama Hospital, along with Additional Police Commissioner Ashok Kamte and senior police inspector Vijay Salaskar.

    Rest in peace KK. HKarkare or his wife could have been given posthumous award for concern over safety measures while fighting heavily armed terrorists. Regret to say 3 top police officers died like sitting ducks in the same jeep which was fired at by M6 guns indiscriminately. Foolish decision by top-brass to send them together as sacrificial goats!

    india is not weak.but it is made to portray as weak by some set of people with ulterior motives .see there is not a single blast in 4 months of modi rule and i am 100% sure that there will not be any in next 5 years.those who want to govern should learn from modi.how to govern.thats why he is the heartthrob of nationalistic indians.tomorow any future pm may have more charisma than modi.but people of nations does not look for that.they look for a leader who is iron willed and pro devolopment in a transparent way so that people need not worry about security of the nation like frequent bomb blasts,26/11 etc.
