German FM calls for international action on digital copyright


Berlin, Oct 8 (IANS) German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier Tuesday urged to redefine copyright in the digital market globally.

"We need an international law for the network," Xinhua quoted Steinmeier as saying at the opening ceremony of the 66th Frankfurt Book Fair.

He warned of a monopolisation of the internet by large corporations data, calling on the German and European internet industry to face the competition with US companies.
