New Delhi, Oct 14 (IANS): The number of dengue cases in Delhi and its adjoining areas have risen to 158, authorities said Tuesday.
With one more death due to dengue in the city, a total of 141 cases are from Delhi alone, while the remaining 17 are from the adjoining areas of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, a statement from the municipal corporation said.
The highest number of 63 cases are from the south municipal corporation, followed by 27 cases from the north corporation and 23 from the east corporation.
Mahender Singh, 48, a resident of west Delhi, was the first in the city who succumbed to the vector borne disease last week.
Apart from dengue, officials said 57 cases of malaria have also been recorded in the city so far this year.
