Udupi: Bishop lays Foundation stone for new church building at Kalmady

Udupi, Nov 1 : Foundation stone laying ceremony for the new Church building of Stella Maris Church, Kalmady was held on 1st November 2014.

Dr Gerald Issac Lobo, the Bishop of Udupi diocese blessed the premises. Fr Alban D’Souza,Parish Priest of Stella Maris Church, Kalmady read the word of God and the

Bishop gave reflection on the same. Prayer service was headed by Fr Henry Mascarenhas.

























































 

District in charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA Udupi district, Yuvraj Puttur , CMC President Udupi, T.Ragavendra Rao, Shri Shankarnarayana Temple Kodavoor, Souhardha Samithi Members, Fr Fredrick D’Souza Parish Priest Thottam , Fr Valerian capuchin were present on the occasion.

A stage programme was held briefly after the foundation stone laying ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Vinay Kumar Sorake wished all the best.

Pramod Madhwaraj said that the church was special and core attraction of city. He assured that he would provide the pledged amount in memory of his father.

The new church building is designed by the engineer, Deepak L A D’souza, Mangalore.

Fr Alban welcomed the gathering and Vice President of Parish council Mrs Flavia Mathais proposed the Vote of thanks. Mrs Shoba Mendonca compered the programme.
