International fashion, art to be showcased in Kolkata

Kolkata, Nov 7 (IANS): The best of global fashion and design innovations in art such as paper craft from India, crystal purses crafted in Italy and much more will see the mercury soaring for fashionistas at the 14th edition of Stylefile exhibition here.

Hosting creations by leading designers as well as fresh talents from Bangkok, Pakistan, London and India, the day-long exhibition Nov 14 will be presented in a 'Night Bazaar' format from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The major highlights include creations by Pakistani designer Sania Maskatiya and designer stationery by 12-year-old Shivam Somani.

To be held at Old Bungalow in south Kolkata's Alipore, it will showcase products by artists and designers from Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Baroda and Hyderabad.

"Art lovers will be able to collect works done by celebrated creative artists. There will also be some limited edition collector's items," said Sumedha Saraogi, who Friday launched the annual event with Preeti Goenka.

Recently, the organisers took the exhibition to London with two leading Indian designers -- Anamika Khanna and Raj Mahtani -- where they showcased their latest fall/winter collections.

"The response has been so encouraging that we are planning to organise a bigger event in London next year," Goenka said.
