Movies are a better option than TV shows: Vishal Karwal

Mumbai, Nov 13 (IANS): Actor Vishal Karwal, who came into limelight with reality TV shows like "MTV Roadies Season Four", "Splitsvilla" and "Big Boss Season 6", says that big screen actors are more acclaimed and recognised as compared to television stars.

The 28-year-old, who is currently portraying the role of Rajveer in daily soap "Jamai Raja", awaits the release of his much delayed Bollywood debut with Vikram Bhatt's "1920 London".

He believes that TV roles are not much remembered by people as they get sidelined by 70mm stars.

"There is a big difference between TV shows and films. In TV, actors end up playing one character for a very long time, which I think can dissatisfy them. As an actor you wish to play different characters. I think TV has that negative impact", Vishal told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

"How much TV you do, as you go off air no one is going to remember you for what you have done. But in films, if you do 5 films, those five roles are going to be remembered forever," he added.

Then what made him join "Jamai Raja"?

"The timing for "Jamai" Raja was perfect because I was required for a couple of months only."

"I have done many fictional shows in the past. My character in this show is very different from those. I accepted the role immediately. Audience will get to see unexpected twists with my character in the show," he said.

However, the versatile actor, who portrayed the role of lord Krishna in "Dwarkadheesh - Bhagwaan Shree Krishna", doesn’t wants to do daily soaps again and is keen about doing adventurous and mythological shows.

“I don't wish to do daily soaps anymore. I have talked to the producer of ‘Dwarkadheesh’ to make another serial of such genre. I am willing to do such aspiring and inspirational show again on TV on any channel whenever they want me to do it. Apart from that I would love to do 'Fear Factor' and 'Khatron ke Khiladi',” he said.

Apart from his comeback on TV, Vishal is currently shooting for his second Punjabi film, “Sambh lange appe” and has signed another Bollywood film “Not Guilty”, which will get on the floor early next year.
