KWAK to stage Konkani drama to raise education fund on Feb 13

Kuwait, Nov13: Kanajar Welfare Association Kuwait (KWAK) will be completing 15 successful years of its formation in Kuwait and to commemorate the occasion, association will be holding a grand celebration on Friday, February 13, 2015, at Kuwait Medical association auditorium, Jabriya, Kuwait at 4.30 pm.

The objective of KWAK programme is to raise funds to support the KWAK poor children’s education. In the past 15 years, KWAK had organized a variety of events that included kid’s champ, sport tournaments, picnics, Monthi Fest, parish feast celebrations through which have helped in supporting the mission of the association to financially support poor children.

KWAK attributes the success of past events to the grace of God and the benevolence of sponsors and well-wishers.

During this celebration, KWAK under the aim of ‘One team- One Dream’ will present a Konkani comedy drama ‘Maka Nangi…?’ written by well-known writer Pradeep Barboza, Paladka and directed by Edward D’Souza, Kanajar.

The drama will be staged by well-known artistes of Kuwait along with some new talents. The team includes Satish Saldanha-Kateel, Lucy Aranha-Gurpur, Edward D’Souza-Kanajar, Avil Fernandes-Nakre, Lional Mascarenhas-Ajekar, Antony Miranda-Kanajar, Rajesh Fernandes-Udyavar, Austin Cardoza-Bola, Johnson D’Almeida-Belman, Jane Norman D’Souza-Shirthady, Manoj-Parangipete, Wilson D’Souza-Mulky, Anil Britto-Kanajar, Clifford Aranha-Bijai. The event will also include variety of live melodious songs and foot-tapping dances.

The Muhurat ceremony of the drama was held on November 6, 2014 in Salmiya. The event started with the prayer led by Edward D’Souza, followed by the inauguration of the script by the KWAK president Antony Miranda, along with the committee members and the drama artistes. Edward D’Souza conducted the oath-taking and compered the event.
Treasurer Steve Rodrigues requested all to join hands to make the celebration a memorable one. The organizers have requested one and all to participate in the celebration and support this worthy cause wholeheartedly.

The proceedings received out of the celebration will go to two institutions: ‘Snehalaya - Psycho Social Rehabilitation Centre’ at Talapady, Mangalore province and ‘Manasa - Rehabilitation Center’ at Pamboor, Udupi district. Therefore, this is a humble request from KWAK to generously support their cause.
