Konkan Yuva Dubai participates in 'Clean Up the World' campaign

Dubai, Nov 20 : Konkan Yuva Dubai, the youth organization of St. Mary's Catholic Church Dubai, participated in "Clean Up the World" campaign organized by Dubai Municipality. This is an effort by Konkan Yuva to promote the culture of keeping the neighborhoods clean and neat.
Clean Up the World is a global campaign that inspires and empowers communities to clean up, fix up and conserve their environment. Held in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme, it mobilizes an estimated 35 million people across 130 countries each year.

For the campaign, Konkan Yuva members gathered at Al Mamzar Beach on a cool Friday morning at 8AM. Konkan Yuva was accompanied by the officials of Dubai Municipality officials.









During this year's campaign Konkan Yuva chose Al Mamzar Beach. As a part of the activity, Konkan Yuva members cleaned the area that was assigned to them.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mubarak, from Dubai Municipality mentioned, "I am really surprised that we have youth in Dubai who woke up on a Friday morning and made it for this activity. It's because of these individuals that we can take such initiatives. I thank Konkan Yuva for taking this initiative. I hope other youth and people take similar initiative to make Dubai cleaner."

Lee D'Almeida, Konkan Yuva Vice President spoke and said, "We are delighted to carry on such activities. Gives us time to mingle and moreso, give back to the city that we call our home. We will continuously be holding such exercises."

The activities concluded by 10:30AM.
