Mangaluru airport to get Ebola Virus scanner

Mangaluru, Nov 22: The Airports Authority of India has requested the Union Health ministry to set up thermal imaging scanner equipment to check the deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) at the Mangalore International airport.

As per a statement from MIA director JT Radhakrishna, a team of Directorate General of Civil Aviation from Bengaluru and Hyderabad had visited the Mangaluru airport to take stock of the measures to detect EVD and the team has gone back fully satisfied.

“Officials are now undertaking screening activities of international passengers based on symptoms and so far no passenger has been detected with the virus or quarantined.” Radhakrishna said in his statement.
