Dubai, Nov 24: Friday, Dec 5, 2014 - All the roads of UAE will lead to the Sharjah Wanderers Sports Club for a full day of thrill, excitement and fun during this cool weather with a little bashing in the sun. It is a day to dash through the snow with a Red Nose Reindeer’s sleigh bringing in Santa, jingling bells to announce the great and most awaited family event - Family Fiesta 2014.
The eagerly awaiting fun lovers are assured of a day full of exciting entertainment with an ambience of Yuletide celebration. ”My enthusiastic team members with their meticulous planning and creative ideas are all fully charged to bring in the Christmas festive mood and cheer to all young & old, just a few days away from today” says James Mendonca, the Hon. President of Mangalore Konkans Dubai.
The overwhelming response to this event has boosted the morale of the energetic organizers to plan some fun filled innovative activities to cater to all sections of the guests be they young or old.
You may look forward to the most popular and talk of the town band in the UAE ‘Fusion’, DJ Leroy and lively Compere Wilfred to make your day by non-stop dancing, burning some extra calories & exhibiting some muscle strength while pulling the rope, taking part in exciting & creative team games, trying your luck in the Novelty dance or Sponsors Game. Children & tiny tods are assured a gala time at the Kid’s corner with bouncy castle, face painting and fun games and in the later hours, highlighting the spirit of Christmas by Carol Singing, enacting the Christmas story and bringing in Santa giving away Christmas gifts to children.
Apart from the above, for all the anxious people who would like to know what more is happening on that day, here lined up are some exciting contests / activities that calls for prior registration.
Kuswar Contest
Rules & Conditions :
1. Register to enter with details Viz. Name, contact number and email address to events@mangalorekonkans.com on or before 30.11.2014
2. Restricted to only one entry per person. Age limit for participation :15 years & above
3. The item for preparation should be traditional Mangalorean Kuswar.
4. Any three Kuswar items may be presented (Cake is not to be included)
5. 2 copies of typed / printed recipe to be submitted along with your presented items.
6. Kuswar items to be prepared and brought to the venue and displayed at the designated counter (as directed by the organizers)
7. Reporting time is 10:45 a.m. Contest begins at 11:45 a.m.
8. Finishing touches for the presentation may be done at the venue.
9. Entries will be judged based on authentic preparation, taste & presentation
10. Maximum number of entries for the contest is 20 on first come first served basis
11. Three best presented Kuswar participants will be awarded prizes.

Tug of War
• Teams to consist of 10 members, with minimum of 3 females.
• Only 8 teams will participate on first come first served basis
• Tug of War will commence at around 11:45 a.m. and the participants are expected to be at the venue by 10:45 a.m. to take final briefing of rules.

Christmas Jamboree – Carol Singing
• Singing group should consist of Minimum 6 and maximum 10 participants.
• Restricted to be a mixed group of singers to consists adults & children, Male & Female.
• Each group to sing two carols (provided by the organizers) with total time not exceeding 5 minutes
• Carol Singing session will be held in the evening linked to Christmas play

On the Spot Dance Contest
• Selection of 8 best couples at the 1st dancing session
• Short listed 8 couples will be eligible to participate in the dance contest
