Konkan Yuva Dubai Crib Contest - Applications invited

Dubai, Nov 26: Konkan Yuva Dubai, the youth organization of St Mary's Catholic Church, Dubai, will be organising "Crib Competition - 2014", as part of celebrating the spirit of Christmas and to keep alive the beautiful tradition.

Last day to submit entries to the competition is December 15, 2014. Evaluators will be visiting to judge the cribs from December 16-23, 2014.

There are two categories under the crib competition:

1. Indoor
2. Outdoor


Rules and Regulations

1. The contest is open to the parishioners of St Mary's Catholic Church, Dubai only

2. Mandatory: Infant Jesus resting in a manger, St Mary, and St Joseph. Other figures in the scene may include angels, shepherds, and animals. The figures could be of any material.

3. Any material and media may be used.

4. The Christmas crib must have a minimum of 80 cm height x 40 cm width.

5. All cribs should have the names of people associated with building the crib securely attached to the crib.


Crib is a depiction of the birth of Jesus, hence the organizers have urged contestants to encourage children to actively participate in the process of making the crib. Assessment will give importance to handiwork, creative use of materials, originality and keeping the traditional style.
