Dubai, Nov 26: India Cultural Society, an NRI outfit of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), arranged a reception for party’s national advisor Ilyas Thumbay, on Friday, November 21 at Al Musalla Tower Burdubai.

The program was presided over by Naseer Karaje, chief of India Cultural Society Karnataka state. Faraz Brahmmavara delivered the welcome address and conducted the program. Naseer Karaje delivered the presidential address and explained the services rendered by ICS in the Emirates among expatriate community such as blood donation, dead body repatriation, employment assistance and other possible help to all Indians irrespective of religion and caste.

Ilyas Thumbay said that marginalization of Muslims and other backward down trodden (Ahinda) communities and anti-constitutional policies of political parties were the main reasons behind the birth of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) as a political party. While analyzing current political scenario, he pointed out the role of SDPI in combating corruption, caste system and dynasty rule and alternative political power to help all like-minded people.

He explained the current dilemma of Indian Muslims. “In spite of having above 15% Muslims in Indian population, Muslims are marginalized in all level of life and basic amenities of livelihood. Muslims are denied social justice, education, employment, reservation in political bodies”.

He further elaborated that since independence, Muslims were facing constant brutality and suspected as terrorist or fundamentalist. He raised concerns over the struggle to sustain their existence as Muslims in India. Due to traditional family politics and dividing Muslim majority areas into reserved seats, blocks the chances of Muslim candidate’s representation in parliament and state assemblies.

About SDPI:

SDPI party is not formed for political thrust or self intended interests. Rather, it formed for the empowerment of all marginalized sections of the society by mobilizing themselves into a political force, instead of remaining as mere vote banks of different political parties in elections. It has demanded balanced representation of all social groups in legislatures and all administrative bodies nominated by government, in proportion to their population.

SDPI is the party of marginalized sections of India which include minorities, Dalits and other backwards. It is setting its foot out for a struggle to recapture the country’s stolen fruits of freedom, sovereignty and development. The party has put forth the slogan of ‘Freedom from Hunger, Freedom from Fear’.

Ilyas Thumbay has entrusted SDPI membership form to Akbar Ali, Surathkal and Ibrahim Addor.

Munavva from Tamil Nadu general secretary- UAE and Naushad from Kerala- secretary of India Cultural Society were present in the programme.

The program was concluded with light refreshment and vote of thanks given by Indian Cultural Society Deira area president, Shakir Nellyadi.
