Mangaluru, Nov 29: A beedi was found in a packet of chips bought from a local fair price shop at Konaje here on Friday November 28.

A girl residing in Konaje, student of a school in Gorigudde, bought the packet of chips from a fair price shop in Konaje for Re 1.

While eating the chips on her way home in the evening, she found a stub of beedi in the packet. The girl started vomiting soon after seeing that.

After she vomited twice, her family inquired, and it was then that the incident came to light.

The family checked the chips packet and found the contents to be stale. The shopkeeper however said that it was brought from Mangaluru just the previous day.

Such stale food is bad for health and the authorities concerned should keep a strict check on their sale, urged the girl's family.

Beedis are bad, chips are cheap but bad for health. Anything prepared in hygienic conditions are o.k. Shop keepers think only about their profit margin.

It is not shop keeper's mistake. It is because of the poor hygienic conditions of the factory and the workers where it is produced and packed. One word "DIRTY".
