Kuwait: Konkani community of Abbasiya celebrate Christmas

Kuwait, Dec 27: The Konkani community of St Danial Comboni parish, Abbasiya organized Christmas party at the Indian Central School (ICS) Auditorium on Friday December 25. The programME commenced with formal welcome by compere of the evening Deepak Andrade and Cheryl Furtado followed by welcome dance on prayer song.

Fr Noel D'Almieda, Fr Nelson Lobo and F. Xavier Marian were welcomed to the stage. Fr Noel D'Almieda welcomed the gathering. A Christmas cake was cut along with committee members to mark the celebration. Fr Nelson Lobo delivered the Christmas message to the audience. Sponsors and well wishers were honored with flowers during the event followed by carol singing by Konkani choir group. A musical skit "Kutam/Family" written by Fr Walter Albuquerque and Fr Walter D'Souza was enacted under the direction of Golden voice of Konkani fame Rony D’Cunha which was meaningful and appreciated by all.





































































































Gulf Voice of Mangalore 2014 winner Morvine Quadras and Music Maestro- 'A R RAhman of Konkani' Adrian Gomes were felicitated with shawl, flowers,fFruit basket and momento. Adrian Gomes son Alston was bestowed with a title "Rising Star" for his talent and achievement in musical field. Rony D'Cunha was felicitated with flowers and momento for his contribution for Konkani community and Konkani music in Kuwait.

Konkani’s dream boy and Golden voice of Konkani fame Rony D’Cunha along with his his wife Jasmine D’Cunha, GVOM winner Morvin Quadras, GVOM Semifinalist Renita Raina D'Mello and Rachel Lobo entertained the crowd with their voices by singing variety of Konkani songs. The music was provided by music maestro and 'A R Rahman of Konkani' Adrian Gomes and his sons Alister and Alston. The instrumental by the father son duo was mind blowing. Audience were thoroughly enjoyed the dances, rib tickling jokes and songs throughout the program. Hamper draw was conducted as part of fund raising. Prizes were distributed for the winners of competition organized for Christmas.

Children were excited, as they were loaded with lots of chocolates and goodies once Santa made his entry along with the carols and jingle songs by English Choir group. Lots of spot prizes were awarded in between the dance session. Rony D’Cunha, Jasmine D’Cunha, Morvine Quadras and Raina D'Mello made the crowd to dance on their feet with the tremendous music of Adrian Gomes and his sons Alister and Alston. A grand dinner prepared by Caesars Resturant was served at the end. The programme was well compered by Deepak Andrade and Cheryl Furtado.

    Very nice programme, great work from konkani community of danial camboni church very proud of our fr Noel D'almeida. His reguler support and unity with people. Long live konkani community of abbasiya. I cant say name because everybody supported. Thank u Roni Deepak Marvin Roni Maxim Monthu etc.
