Kundapur, Jan 13: M Manjunath Shetty took charge as the new DySP of Kundapur sub-division on Tuesday, January 13.

Speaking to reporters at Kundapur DySP office, after the ceremony, he said that he has yet to know about Kundapur Taluk. He will attend to necessary duties after taking suggestions from journalists and citizens. “Good work is possible only when there is cooperation from everyone. The deteriorating situation of traffic in Kundapur has been brought to my notice and I will be looking into it and take suitable action in order to regulate traffic”, he said.

Manjunath Shetty was born in Kenjooru gram of Udupi Taluk. After completing his Pre-University in National Junior College,Barkur, he secured his BA degree from Ujire SDM College. He joined police force in 1990 and served as police sub-inspector in 1992 at Uppinangadi, Subrahmanya, Belthangadi and several places in Mangaluru.

He got promoted as police inspector in 2001 and served for three years in CID, three years in immigration and traffic inspector in Mangaluru for sometimes. He got promoted as DySP in 2012 and has served in Udupi Coast Guard. He became the DySP in Kundapur after 25 years of service in the police department.

Kundapur circle inspector Diwakar P M, Kundapur police inspector Nasir Hussain, Shankernarayana police inspector Dejappa, Women's police station SI Sujatha and traffic police station SI Devendra, present on the occasion, welcomed the newly appointed DySP.
