Kasargod: Police arrest miscreants for harassing couple

Kasargod, Jan 16: A group of people reportedly harassed a couple in Kumble on Wednesday January 14 and the police arrested five suspects following a complaint in this regard.

The arrested are identified as Suramtail resident Priyesh (21), Anantapura resident Ganesh (22), Naikapu resident Jyotish (22), Veerendra (21), and Chetan (22).

An auto driver from Kasargod and his lover, a girl from Bandadka, were in Anantapura. A group surrounded the couple and acted indecently. Some locals who saw this complained to Kumble station police. The policemen who came to the place rescued the couple from the group.

The police arrested five suspects, took the couple to the police station, called their parents, and handed them over. A group has been allegedly indulging in harassing tourists who are coming to Anantapura for some time.
