Mumbai: REACH celebrates its third anniversary

Mumbai, Jan 29: There was an overwhelming response for the Charles Nite organised by REACH, a social and welfare association of Mira Road on its 3rd anniversary day. The programem was held on Sunday, January 25 at Holy Cross Convent ground Mira Road.

All the guest were brought on a procession with the tunes of live brass band. Fr. Nelson Pinto, parish priest of St. Joseph's Church, Mira Road was the chief guest.
























The cultural programme started with a prayer dance by the children of Holy Cross Convent School. The entire "Charles Nite" Troupe gathered on a stage to sing the welcome song that introduced each and every one of them.

Then followed the songs by Ivan Sequiera (Hanv Ek Gavpi), Charles D'Cunha and Denis Gonsalves (Cheenth Monsha Cheenth), Nephie Pradan (Sawarloo and America Pavshi), Guloba(Mariola DSouza and Muriel DSouza), Kenny Zuzarte (Dum Dum Diga Diga), Franky DSouza and Sunitha DSouza (Yo Moga Yo), Antony Tauro (Susmita), Ivan and Nephie (Rat Ke Hum Safar), Denis Gonsalves (Garbapat), Sunitha and Charles (Bottler ani Ranpinn), Antony and Denis (Amchim Kazaram), Kenny (Jennybai), Nephie and Ivan (Jab Koi Baath), Franky, Sunitha, Mariola and Muriel (Sangeet Kuttam), Charles, Ivan and Antony (Maria), Charles, Antony and Denis (Mhozo Maim Ganv).

Newly formed Konkani comedy group of Jerry Rasquinha along with Ozy Sequiera and Kenny D'Souza presented hilarious skits. The live instrumentals were provided by DAY BREAKERS team consisting Manuel Noronha (Keyboard), Julius Noronha (Lead Guitar), Marshall Mascarenhas, Caji Mendes (Bass Guitar), Alwyn Gomes (Trumphet) and Octopad (Romaldo Fernandes).

St. Cecilia's Band Vile Parle gave new flavour to the occasion. The band consisted Sanjiv Pereira, Malcolm Misquita, Paul Coutinho, Nestor Coutinho, Richard D'Souza, Jackson D'Souza Ashwin Baptista and Hubert D'Souza.

The entire programme was anchored by Clement Lobo, President of Konkani Kala Manch. The stage programme was anchored by Mr. Michael Fernandes.

REACH (acronym for Ready to Educate and Accept Challenges of Humanity) a registered trust that was started just three years ago by the foresighted visionaries of Mira Road have reached a number needy in Mira Road. The major project taken up by them is a free ambulance facility and group to conduct roce programmes of Mangaloreans in a traditional way. They were also in forefront to fight the injustice done to the common people.
