Kasargod: Police arrest suspect in theft of gold, cash

Kasargod, Jan 29: Police at Kumble police station have arrested an accused in the theft of eight sovereigns of gold and Rs 50,000 cash from a house belonging to Sridhar in Kanchikatte. It is said that the thief entered the house by removing the tiles on the roof after arriving at the spot in an autorickshaw. The theft had occurred in broad daylight on Saturday January 24 when the inmates of the house were away. The gold and the cash were kept in a cupboard in the house.

Police have recovered three and a half sovereigns of gold and Rs 10,000 in cash from him. The police had received a clue that he was roaming suspiciously in an auto before the arrest. They said that there are several cases registered against the suspect in Karnataka also.
