Kundapur: ‘Alva’s Samskritika Vaibhava’ to enthrall locals on Feb 1

Kundapur, Jan 30: Alva’s Nudisiri Virasat Kundapur unit president Dr Umesh Putran has said that ‘Alva’s Samskritika Vaibhava’, with the inclusion of additional cultural styles, will be presented on the premises of Kundapur Junior College on Sunday February 1 at 6 pm.

Speaking at Kundapur Press Club, he said that this year’s programme will be unique and ‘Samskritika Vaibhava’ will start at 6.45 pm. ‘Barbareeka’ drama directed by Jeevan Ram Sullia, ‘Lavani’ dance from Maharashtra, ‘Shambho’ classical dance, ‘Thenku Yaksha’ experiment – ‘Bhramari Vilasa’, Punjab’s folk dance ‘Giddha-Bhangra’, Banjara dance of Maharashtra, stick dance of Manipuri, ‘Dhol Chalam’ of Manipur, ‘Vande Mataram’, ‘Dollu’ dance, shadow play, and Sri Lankan folk dances, will be presented by troupes totaling nearly 250 artistes,” he said.


“The meeting in the hall will be over within 45 minutes and the cultural programme of three and a half hours will entertain the audience,” he said. He asked people to come 15 minutes in advance and co-operate for the success of the programme. “As the programme is being held in the heart of Kundapur city, people should attend in large numbers,” he said.

“The rear portion of Junior College, St Mary’s School ground and Dattatreya Temple premises can be used for parking. Admission is free,” he said.

Kundapur unit honorary president B Appanna Hegde said that 30 decks are being prepared for the programme and 6,000 seats will be arranged. “As the programme is held in the heart of Kundapur, people should make use of it,” he said.

Kundapur unit secretary Subrahmanya Shetty as well as Moodbidri Alva’s College lecturers Divyadhara Shetty and Nagaraja were present.
