bless our government,” said Karnataka state chief minister Siddaramaiah.
The chief minister was speaking after his visit to Attur St Lawrence Pilgrimage Center on Wednesday January 29. He inaugurated the residence of priests and laid the foundation stone for the community hall during the visit.
Earlier, he lit candle to the saint, visited the miracle statue of the saint, and prayed.
Udupi diocese Bishop Rev Dr Jerald Lobo in his speech, said that the government has provided funds amounting to Rs 2.50 crores for different projects. “We hope to receive some more help from the government,” he said.
Fr George D’Souza, parish priest of the center, requested funds for the development of the center.
Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, Ramanath Rai, U T Khader, Moidin Bava, Pramod Madhwaraj, Ivan D’Souza, H Gopala Bhandary, Rehmat N Shaikh, Richard Pinto, John R D’ Silva, Santhosh D’ Silva, Aveline Louis, and Valerian Pais were present.
