Buenos Aires, March 9 (IANS): Argentine tennis player Leonardo Mayer and Brazil's Joao Souza on Sunday played the longest match in Davis Cup singles category, which lasted for six hours and 42 minutes.

Mayer defeated Souza 7-6 (4), 7-6 (5), 5-7, 5-7 and 15-13, in the match played at Tecnopolis clay court in Villa Martinelli in Greater Buenos Aires, Xinhua reported.
