Udupi: 36 arrested at Kaup for defying ban on animal sacrifice

Udupi, Mar 25: The Kaup police arrested 36 persons for allegedly violating the ban on animal sacrifice during Suggi Maripuja at Kaup here.

The arrests reportedly took place between 1 am and morning on Wednesday March 25.

Sources said that the 36 persons were arrested for allegedly sacrificing poultry in the Kaup Marigudi premises during the celebrations which began on Tuesday March 24.

Based on credible information, the police raided and arrested them from in and around the Marigudi premises, sources said.

Out of the 36, some have already obtained bail from the court and have been released.

The state high court had ordered both the district deputy commissioner (DC) and the superintendent of police (SP) to strictly ensure that animal sacrifice does not take place during the annual Suggi Maripuja, after a petition was filed in the court against the practice. The district administration along with Animal Welfare Board had accordingly issued ban orders on animal sacrifice at Hale Marigudi, Hosa Marigudi, and Moorane Marigudi shrines at Kaup, under the Karnataka Animal Sacrifice Prohibition Act, 1959.

    you are right in reply to my mail. The point is even God knew when he commanded but that was a temporary solution (for forgiveness as a physical sign) given for humans and yet called for they had to share and consume the sacrificed meat without wasting till the appointed time comes for God's final & ultimate sacrifice to end this. That is His ways & plan revealed through the messengers. Jesus revealed the Gods love and as Christ said 'I make all things New'. Yet He kept all the commandments and created new system of Confession (as a new physical sign & authority given to anointed priests too forgive sins) where no more blood sacrifice.
    Remember as you know whenever God made something new, God gave a physical sign. So as Jesus Christ but still the many in the World (like many Jews those days) not able to accept His Divinity.
    God changed names in old testament and with same authority Lord Jesus too being one.
    Here in this article if this from their Holy book then fine otherwise HC order takes precedence over.

    Jesus fulfilled all the laws of the Old Testament without leaving an iota of the Law of Moses.

    John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

    Jesus was the Lamb of God sent to rescue the humans from the everlasting death. Death enterd through sinning by Adama and eve.

    Jesus is the first fruit from the dead.

    A Leviticus is also sinning and offering a sinner’s sin offering.

    Nobody have had fulfilled the laws of God fully entirely.

    That is why to reconcile us with God to the truth and righteousness before the Holy God, the king Salem Melchizedek, the high priest came down from heaven to sacrifice a perfect sacrifice to all humans of the world once for all, shed the blood on the cross, died on the cross and on the third day rose again from the dead.

    A plant can respond to stimuli, for example by turning towards the light or closing over a fly.
    There are some plants that even eat other animals.
    Doesn't it imply that plants have the ability to sense the things without having brain or nerve system?

    Nice analyses by a great Indian Master about Non Veg.
    It was out of an aesthetic sense that vegetarianism was born. It became entangled in religion and got lost.
    The question is not religious, I would like to remind you again, it is a question of aesthetics. An aesthetic man will see that life remains beautiful it does not become ugly and nightmarish.
    The question is not that you have killed the animal and killing is not good, no. The question is that you have killed the animal — you. Just to eat? While beautiful vegetarian food is available? If vegetarian food is not available, that’s one thing. But the food IS available. Then why? Then why destroy a body? And if you can kill an animal, then why not be a cannibal? What is wrong with killing a man? The meat derived from a human body will be more in tune with you. Why not start eating human beings? That too is a question of aesthetics.

    And the animals are brothers and sisters, because man has come from them. They are our family. To kill a man is only to kill an evolved animal, or to kill an animal is just to kill somebody who is not yet evolved but is on the way. It is the same. Whether you kill the child when he is in the first grade or whether you kill the young man when he has come to his last grade in the university, it does not make much difference. The animals are moving towards human beings, and human beings had once been animals. It is only a question of aesthetics. Why not kill your wife and eat her? She is so beautiful and so sweet….

    - Isn't it interesting that animal sacrifice has been practised worldwide by people from different religions across history?
    - Isn't it interesting to note that the Bible says "without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness" (Hebrews 9:22)
    - Isn't it interesting that we all seek forgiveness and try to find a way to atone for our sinful lives?
    - Isn't it interesting that those who did not hear the message of Jesus Christ continue to practise animal sacrifice? and if they ban the usage of animals for the sacrifice, use alternative substitutes?

    God doesn’t eat the meat and drink the blood of animals.

    FOR THE SINS OF THE HUMANS A HUMAN MUST BE SACRIFICED WHO SHOULD BE WITHOUT BLEMISH.

    Jesus was blameless, without blemish, sinless and faultless.
    Born of a chaste virgin, young aged 30-33 bore all of the humans sins and sacrificed himself and reconciled us through His blood before heavenly Father and is seated at the right hand side of God the Father.

    John 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

    You and me now have an assurance that we can enter into heaven. You have a passport and a visa to enter into heaven. However you should always renew your passport and visa to enter into heaven. (You have to purify and sanctify from your day by day sins there by asking forgiveness from Jesus Christ the son of the Living God.

    Are our priests and pastors in Dubai church offer your animals at the altar as your sin offering?

    There is a prophesy in the Genesis God said to Noah to build the Ark and the size of the ark was:

    Genesis 6:15 THE LENGTH OF THE ARK SHALL BE THREE HUNDRED CUBITS, THE BREADTH OF IT FIFTY CUBITS, AND THE HEIGHT OF IT THIRTY CUBITS.

    The ark/boat was God the Father, Jesus was the captain of the ship and The Holy Spirit was moving the boat.

    The prophesy: God the Father, Jesus exactly started his ministry at the age of 30, (at the age of 33/for 3 years only and after gave up is life on the cross) the Holy Spirit appeared on to the apostles exactly on the 50th day.

    Killing for food in designated places with license is ok but not somewhere like a God's place!. You can drink alcohol in Bar but can you do the same in a Church or any holy place!?. Menstruating women are not allowed to enter temple premises but how come blood is spilled in a sacred place!?

    Very thoughts and agree with u 100%. Many locals like to offer the blood to stone and make a kori sukka for pleasure. This tradition was there very long without much hassle but it is not a great practice for many reasons as u described.

    Abraham was asked by God to sacrifice his own son Isaac who was a legal higher to Abraham.
    (Remember in the Old Testament slaves had no inheritance. They were kept as house maids/ paid servants/slaves.
    Jesus called us friends not slaves.

    I quote John 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends

    And when Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac God spoke to him and said Now I know you fear and hear thy lonely God and gave a Ram to sacrifice at that time (remember god didn’t gave a Lamb but a Ram. There is difference between Lamb and a Ram.)

    Pslam 50:7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.
    8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.
    9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.
    10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.
    11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.
    12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.
    13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
    14 Offer unto God thanksgiving and pay thy vows unto the most High:

    For there is no remission of sins without blood shed.
    Hebrews 9:22 Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.
    Once Jesus sacrificed himself on the Cross he shed the blood on the cross sacrificing animals as sin offering is ended and forbidden. Eating of such meat is forbidden and blasphemy for us / Christians.
    Kindly remember sacrificing of animals as sin offering is perished because it was humanly impossible to keep the law as desired by the Holy God. So we are all reconciled with God through the sacrifice of Jesus the Son of the Living God.

    Animal sacrifice is an important theme found throughout Scripture because “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness” (Hebrews 9:22). When Adam and Eve sinned, animals were killed by God to provide clothing for them (Genesis 3:21). Cain and Abel brought sacrifices to the Lord. Cain's was unacceptable because he brought fruit, while Abel's was acceptable because it was the “firstborn of his flock” (Genesis 4:4-5). After the flood receded, Noah sacrificed animals to God (Genesis 8:20-21).
     God commanded the nation of Israel to perform numerous sacrifices according to certain procedures prescribed by God. First, the animal had to be spotless. Second, the person offering the sacrifice had to identify with the animal. Third, the person offering the animal had to inflict death upon it. When done in faith, this sacrifice provided a temporary covering of sins. Another sacrifice called for on the Day of Atonement, described in Leviticus 16, demonstrates forgiveness and the removal of sin. The high priest was to take two male goats for a sin offering. One of the goats was sacrificed as a sin offering for the people of Israel (Leviticus 16:15), while the other goat was released into the wilderness (Leviticus 16:20-22). The sin offering provided forgiveness, while the other goat provided the removal of sin.

    Slaughtering animals or paultry can be avoided. Religious rituals can be managed. Instead of slaughtering animals give some donation rice coconut etc to Mariamma. I am sure she will accept this with a lot of goodwill. Brahmins can cut a Boodi kumbala instead of chicken for bootha...why not others

    The sacrificed meat is consumed by devotees...then why the ban? What about slaughtering chicken n goats for food?? Will there be a ban on killing animals like goat, sheep n chick for food?? What these animal lovers are doing?? Hypocrisy...Cutting the plants or its fruits for consumption is too not good...Milking cow n consuming milk too is illegal as tge milk is the right of calf n why human beings are taking away the rights of the cakves?? We human beings must understand tbe purpose of creation n the natures system...In the wild tigers n lions hunt n kill deer or bison for their food...its law of the nature...If people sacrifice animals in the name of religion n throw its meat without consuming it then the ban would be alright.....There are a section of people advocating for the ban of killing of go mata n the same section is in favour killing of go pita(bulls)..Double standard.....The herbevorous animals have been created by God for human food...including beef..goat..sheep n chicken..

    Kindly adhere to the order of High Court which has banned on all the sacrificial animals or birds on all festivals.

    NOBODY SHOULD SACRIFICE ANIMALS OR BIRDS. GOD DOESN’T EAT ITS FLESH.

    God is beyond eating of animals and birds flesh.
    It is the Humans who eat birds and animals flesh.
    Hence if you wanted to eat on festivals go to animal or birds slaughter house purchase it and eat for yourself.

    In summation, animal sacrifices were commanded by God so that the individual could experience forgiveness of sin. The animal served as a substitute—that is, the animal died in place of the sinner, but only temporarily, which is why the sacrifices needed to be offered over and over. Animal sacrifices have stopped with Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was the ultimate sacrificial substitute once for all time (Hebrews 7:27) and is now the only mediator between God and humanity (1 Timothy 2:5). Animal sacrifices foreshadowed Christ’s sacrifice on our behalf. The only basis on which an animal sacrifice could provide forgiveness of sins is Christ who would sacrifice Himself for our sins, providing the forgiveness that animal sacrifices could only illustrate and foreshadow- (copied).

    Animal sacrifice was also commanded by GOD during those days.
    Later Jesus came with a new message from the same GOD.
    So GOD was same. We interpret it differently for our convenience.

    Double Standards Exposed!
    These outfits have a problem with Cow Slaughter, but are ok with someone beating the cow during Kambala or someone using cow in rural areas to transport luggage!!!

    When it is a religious ritual, it is ok to harm the animal!!!!

    There is a specific group of religious folks who worship chicken, goat etc - is it fine for these people to kill chicken and goat?

    Animals or birds have life and when slaughtered feel the pain ban slaughtering them and let us turn to be purely vegetarians.

    We have to decide whether we will follow the law or the religious rituals!. Both cant together in a collision course!. Just look around the world and you will see that nations depending on religion are some of the most backward and those which respect laws have moved much forward!. Singapore is the best example!. Recently its first premier died who is credited with bringing a country infested with religious maggots and communal fightings into a ultra modern nation that is renowned for its clean, tolerance society and one of the richest in the world simply because he brought the fear of laws of the land into everyone's mind!. They are what they are today just because everyone follows laws more religiously and religion within those laws!. God too is smiling on Singapore!

    His intention is simple..... If Rama sena, VHP or his people arrested than release it and if other community people are arrested just punish them. If other Government invites Pakistan leaders for talk than he will complain that this Government is giving Biryani pary to Pakistanis but BJP people celebrate Pakistani day than no comments.     The two pictures show that the persons are treated like criminals. If I understand the news correctly, what they sacrificed was poultry and not animals. With due respect to the High Court order, I do not see the logic, if hen is allowed to be cut and sold in the open market, why it is banned in this particular place? Whatever be the reason, the persons who are arrested should be treated like human beings and not treated like criminals.
