Mangaluru: Brahmin leader performs Padapuja of Dalit Swamiji

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Apr 17: As a prelude to the programme slated to be organized on April 19 at Mudipinnar shrine premises, which aims at sensitising women towards the virtues of righteousness and to eradicate the menace of untouchability, Padapuja of Sri Shashikantha Mani Swamiji of Kashi Kalabhairaveshwara shrine at Kanyana Balekody was performed by leader of Havyaka Brahmins and director of Ammembala Service Cooperative Bank, Mudipu, T G Rajaram Bhat on Thursday April 16.

Bhat performed Padapuja by offering milk to the feet of the Swamiji. A number of people who had gathered at the programme also performed Padapuja and got blessings of the Swamiji. Zilla panchayat vice president, Sathish Kumpala, zilla panchayat member, Santoshkumar Boliyar, Dharmajagruti Samiti president, Navin Padalpady, Sandesh M Dinkar, Jayanth, and Mundaje Balakrishna were among the leaders who were present.

Delivering benedictory address on the occasion, Shashikanth Swamiji felt that untouchability can be eradicated only if awareness is created among all sections of the people right from the lowest strata of the society. He called upon people to keep organizing social programmes towards realizing this objective.

Organizer of the programme, T G Rajaram Bhat, said that it will not be enough if one keeps harping about Hindu unity. He said that sincere efforts need to be put forth to achieve this end. Bhat said that by working to remove the bane of untouchability, the task of Hindu unity can be achieved in a better way without problems.

It is gathered that Shashikantha Swamiji commands respect and patronage not only from a particular community, but he has devotees and followers in all the communities.

SWAMIJI IRRESPECTIVE OF COMMUNITY HE BELONGS TO SHOULD GUIDE SUCH ELDERLY PEOPLE POLITELY DENYING AWKWARD ACTS LIKE GETTING WORSHIPPED BY A PERSON ELDER TO HIM.
IF MR.BHAT IS REALLY INTERESTED COULD HAVE HELPED DALIT POOR PEOPLE WHICH IS MORE THAN WORSHIPPING A SWAMIJI.

I had a chat with one of my friend who is a Pastor in Mangalore.(CSI)
He is a sober and good personality who devoted his entire life for his community. He was telling me that they wont believe in statue worship unlike RCs.Because creator is only one who creates and non of the replicas created by man can conform
him/creators creations.A simply asked him a question...i.e., do you have photos of your elders at home who passed away.He said yes.then I asked him how you can see thse photos or garland them with reverence as they are only creations and not creator like.Ke kept quiet.

What is the point? People keep photo of their loved one only whom they saw/lived with in their life thats all. Do you have all of your forefathers photos in your home? No right. if at all there then one photo will be common in all home irrespective of any religion that is the photo of ADAM.

This may be the first time in the history of Hinduism where a Brahmin is washing the feet of Dalit swamy.
Sri Rama & Sri Krishna were not Brahmins. So if they washed the feet of their Dalit Gurus then there is nothing special in it. But during Ramayana & Mahabharatha period no Brahmin ever washed the feet of Dalit Guru.
Therefore now Havyakas leader of Mudipu has created History which other brahmins should follow.

Earlier it was easy to convince lower caste people into religious conversion by brainwashing them on discrimination in Hindu society based on caste and a promise a job & equality.

Religious Hindu families who stopped lower caste guy from entering their house later let him in after he got converted into Antony!

Though washing of feet is a symbolic gesture, will unite the Hindu society..!

Poojary is go to such extent even done 'ooralu seve' in the benefit of gandhi/nehru dynasty..but god not listened n failed completely.

Anything if you do from the heart..angels listen..otherwise it also knows very well..what's your actual intention..!!

All for the sake of 'just publicity'..
Person who is doing such things never invite 'media' done silently.

Your assumptions may be as per islamic teachings. But as per Hindu parampara Guru is looked up on the one who leads us to reach God.Gur may a true Kazi from Islam,A church Priest,a teacher or Swamijees for Hindus. Our texts says"GURUR BRAHMA GURU VISHNU GURU DEVO MAHESHWARAHA,GURU SAKSHAATH PARABRAHMA THASMAI SREE GURUVE NAMAHA"
That's why our every prayer/pooja commence with reverence to Guru......Guru blessings are essential to reach God.....

Sri Krishna Washed the feet of Brahmin Sudama and not any Shudra Sudama. Unscientific Caste system was very much prevalent during Mahabharatha time and at that time no one washed the feet of Shudra Swamijis like Veda Vyasa even though Vyasa himself wrote Mahabharatha and Krishna Purana and fathered Dritarashtra & Pandu.

Lord Krishna when came for conciliatory talk with kaurava at Hasthinapura had stayed over night at the residence of Daasiputra Vidhura. Valmiki who believed to have re corded Ramayana was not a Brahmin.Shirdi Sai baba,Bhagavan Nithyanandaswamy of Ganeshpuri etc., were not brahmins but worshipped/being worshipped by crores of people even today across religions.
Bhati is the only yardstick for paadapooja to Guru and not the religion to which he belongs. We believe that Rishi moola and Nadi moolaare unquestionable.

Prabhuji - Vidhura was Dasi Putra but he is a half brother of Dritarashtra and born to sage Vyasa & Parishrami. Krishna being Shudra yadava he stayed in Vidhura's house but no Brahmin ever stayed in the house of vidura.
Valmiki was a Shudra but Rama never washed Varlmiki's feet even though he was Guru to Rama and Lava-Kusha.

Do you think these people greater than Baba Amte. I adore him much from my heart.

Indian lawyer and social activist who devoted his life to India’s lower-caste Dalits - officially called Scheduled Castes formerly called “untouchables” and especially to the care of those individuals who suffered from leprosy. Baba Amte's work earned him numerous international awards notably Padma Shree, UN Human Rights Prize, Templeton Prize, and the Gandhi Peace Prize. Amte was born into an affluent Brahmin family.

His whole family devouted to the welfare of leprosy patients. Baba Amte himself tested virus of leprosy in his own body to see the pain of others.

Instead of visiting Temples/Chuches/Mosques often better to visit such places once in a life time..called 'Anandvan' in Mahrashtra.

If pada pooja among you is not new, then it is not practiced widely and regularly.
Had it been in practice, would have got publicity like this. FYI, nowhere I said it is practiced in West. I only appreciate it. Read properly man! I do appreciate many of your food habits and cultures as well. So you can also appreciate whatever is good, irrespective, from where it came from!
