Nottingham, Apr 11: The union and bonding of Mangalorean United Konkani Association members was reflected during the commemoration of Easter in UK.

MUKA members assembled in St Theresa’s RC Church Hall, Kingsbury Drive, Aspley Nottingham at noon on Easter Sunday.The programme was conducted under the leadership of Sunil D’Cunha.

At the cultural programmed, Mary D'Souza led a prayer, which was followed by a welcome speech by Sunita Rodrigues and welcome dance by Dorothy Prakash.

Deepak Alvares and Shalini Pinto read the financial and annual report. Children presented their talents by singing, dancing  and playing violin.  

‘Savalak Zapi ‘ and ‘Chorachae Kumsar’ comedy skits were presented by Stany, John, Vincy and Deepak. Folk dance and dandia dance performed by couples brought back the memories of traditions of India.

Games for various age groups were conducted by Praveen and Julian and prizes were distributed to the winners. Master of ceremonies Sunil kept the gathering entertained with crispy jokes.

Children and adults took part in the Baila dance. A vote of thanks was given by Dorothy. Eighty individuals including members and guests from London, Leeds, Newcastle, Liverpool and a few other counties were present.
