Bantwal, Jun 26: Rajeevi Y (38), resident of Peraje Enaje and secretary of taluk Anganwadi Workers Association (CITU), died due to cardiac arrest on Thursday June 25.

Rajeevi, who was active in organisations working for the welfare of Anganwadi workers since the last 19 years, had organized several programmes aimed at bettering their standard of living. She also had worked for providing own buildings to Anganwadi centres. She was working for Madala Anganwadi centre in Peraje village near Mani in the taluk.

After Rajeevi complained of breathlessness on June 22 morning, she was admitted into a private hospital at Puttur. From there, she was admitted into the intensive care unit of a private hospital at Mangaluru. However, she died of cardiac arrest later.

Rajeevi, daughter of Lokappa Gowda and Sesamma couple from Enaje in Peraje, is survived by mother, three brothers, and five sisters.
