Serial thefts in Gundibail – Mobiles, electronic items stolen

Udupi, Jun 29: Thieves entered Mobile and Electronic shops in Gundibail in Udupi on Sunday night, June 28 and decamped with goods worth several lacs of rupees.

The thieves broke the lock of Shreyas Mobile shop near Kalsanka and took away nearly 33 mobile phones and their chargers, pen drives, memory cards and other accessories. They also broke into Sri Jaladurgi Sales Electronic shop on the same road and stole two table fans, two pedestal fans, five ceiling fans, CFL lights and other valuables.

While the value of items missing from Shreyas Mobile shop is said to be worth Rs 2 lacs another Rs 2 two lacs worth items including cash were stolen from Jaladurgi electronic shop. The thefts look similar and were conducted in the same night.

A case is registered in Udupi city police station. Forensic experts have taken finger prints of staff and owners of both the shops. Investigation is on.
