Kundapur, Jul 6: A youth who reportedly approached a lady in a deserted stretch of the road from behind, pulled at her hand, teased her, and talked to her in an obscene manner, and also two others who were said to be his accomplices, were thrashed by the people before being haned over to the personnel of Kota police station. The incident occurred on the night of Saturday July 4.

The accused has been identified as Kishen (20), while Kiran and Sathish are his accomplices.

An unmarried woman, who happens to be a member of Molahalli gram panchayat, was walking towards her home on the evening of Saturday. Kishan, who approached her duly covering himself with a piece of cloth, caught hold of her hand, and talked to her in an indecent manner, it is said. She succeeded in struggling from his clutches and pulled the cloth covering him. She identified him as Kishan, ran home, and informed her family members. She also filed a complaint in Kota police station about the incident.

In the meantime, the locals as well as policemen searched for Kishen and his friends everywhere but failed to find him. After they came to know that all the three accused were travelling in a single motor bike on Saturday night at Amasebail in the taluk, several people from Molahalli rushed there, and forcibly brought all the three accused back to their village. After beating up all the three, they were handed over to the police.

They are in the custody of Kota police as of now, and are likely to be produced in the court today.
