Thieves enter shop at night - take away cash, items worth Rs 2.57 lac

Mangaluru, Jul 8: A complaint stands filed in Ullal poilce station here relating to theft of cash and other items from a shop at Devinagara Talapady on the night of Monday July 6.

The lock of an alluminium fabrication door of A R Enterprises at Devinagara in Talapady village was found to have been broken open. Cash worth Rs 2,20,500 and other things were found to have been stolen. The theft came to light on Tuesday morning.

About Rs 4,500 kept in the cash drawer being collection for the day, as well as Rs 2,17,000 in cash representing sale of land belonging to a litigant kept in the lower drawer, were found to have been taken away. The entire drawer was removed and taken away by the thieves, the complaint says. The value of goods and cash so stolen has been put at Rs 2,57,000.

Ullal police have registered the case and investigation has begun.
