Kundapur: Senior citizen dies after slipping into well

Kundapur, Jul 13: An old man, who had visited his agricultural fields to drain out water accumulated in his farm, accidentally slipped and fell into a pond lining his field, and lost his life. This accident occurred at Nada Guddeangady near Hemmady in the taluk on Sunday June 12.

Annappa Devadiga (80), resident of Mourimane in Nada Guddeangady, who lost his life in this way, has left behind three sons and four daughters. Annappa, who was an agriculturist by profession, was walking towards his field near Lord Venkataramana temple in his neighbourhood, when he lost balance all of a suddenand could not avoid falling into the pond, it is gathered. The pond, known locally as Dasana Kere, was filled to the brim because of copious rain.

Annappa had lost his wife two years back. Gangolli police and revenue officials, who arrived on the spot, arranged to bring the body out of the pond.
