Kundapur, Jul 15: The Byndoor police on Wednesday July 15 rescued 19 buffaloes that were crammed into a truck near a petrol bunk at Navunda near Byndoor here.

The accused, identified as Jaleel and his accomplices managed to escape from the spot. The police are searching for them, it is learnt.

It is learnt that the buffaloes were about to be transported to Kerala from Jaleel's house located near the petrol bunk near Navunda. The limbs and necks of the buffalos were tied with ropes and they were hoisted into the truck and crammed in an inhuman way, sources said. The police, on receiving authentic information about this, raided the spot at around 5 am and rescued the animals.

The accused who noticed the police managed to escape as it was still dark.

Byndoor circle inspector Sudarshan and his team rescued buffaloes approximately worth Rs 8 lac and brought them to the police station where they were fed water and fodder.

Police sources said that the buffaloes were being taken to a slaughterhouse in Kerala.

Byndoor police have registered a case.

Good Job Byndoor Police, If you do you work sinceraly there is no need of Moral Policing to protect animals being inhumanly tied and taken to slaughter house, and SIKULAR DUMBOS, if Your Jalla Jaleel was doing legal trade he would not have ran like pakistani Kutta. be wise not a fool to shake ur tail like country dog.

    Mr Akarshad - England,

You seem to have a contradictory mindset. In the first sentence you refer to the tying up of an animal as inhuman. In the next sentence you use the name of another animal (dog) in an insulting way. You seem to be confused. You are forgetting that dog is also an animal. Be clearer in your comments.

I too am a lover of animals. I am also against inhuman treatment of animals. And for God’s sake do not forget that a dog is a loyal animal and more so than human beings.

Go back to your own comment and read it and you will know what I am talking about.

Dear Haya, Just go to any BD office and pay the hafta they ask. Their certificate is enough for all, including police. You can even transport to a slaughter house with a banner on the vehicle and no one will dare stop you!

It looks police are only interested in catching cattle transport and not interested in protecting citizens from so many crimes taking place!. Also nowadays house & temple theft, rape, murders etc are increasing day by day!. Looks a clever tactic by jobless people to divert attention of police and thereby do their illegal activities with impunity!. Just look at people participating in so called protests during daytime in Mangalore and maybe if police show the will and wish, almost all crimes can be solved by interrogating atleast some people involved in protests!.

Karma or past memory will act on animal slaughter. Newton law also states the same. Look at middle east countries, one by one destroyed with bombs by their own people.

Buffalo slaughtering is allowed in india as per the law..even recent beef ban act of maharashtra permits n legalises the slaughtering of water buffaloes...then why the police has to raid ?? I dont understand..

if these are illegally procured or stolen n illegally transported then police is right in raiding.. but legally sourced n legally transported buffaloes can be slaughtered for its meat in legally run slaughter houses across india..

Under the PM Modi, robbery/decoit/loot/scam/rape/murder and other activities are legal whereas slaughtering unused animals for meat of poor is illegal and punishable. However, killing of cows for beef export by sangh parivar goons is not banned and it is not illegal. Really we can expect ACHE DIN as promised by our PM who is enjoying overseas rather than attending Parliament sessions.
