Bantwal: Uprooted tree injures four car passengers

Bantwal, Jul 20: Four persons travelling in a car were injured after a tree fell across the road when the vehicle was passing near the tree. This was one of the incidents like overflowing rivers, damaged vehicles, uprooted electric poles etc caused by heavy rain on Sunday.

The incident occurred near Narahari Parvath of Kalladka on national highway 75. A private bus that was moving towards B C Road from Kalladka also was damaged in the accident although none of the bus passengers were hurt. Condition of one among the four injured is stated to be serious.

In this incident, four electric poles were also damaged, and power supply to the area got severed. Locals helped in shifting the injured to hospital. Traffic came to standstill for sometime after this accident. Assistant superintendent of police, Rahul Kumar, arrived on the spot and worked to ease traffic.
