Mangaluru, Jul 20: A school girl from Nagori here went missing under mysterious circumstances on the evening of Monday July 20.

Chaitra (13), daughter of Rangappa Kambar and Mallava, is the missing girl.

Chaitra is studying in the eighth standard at Capitanio High School.

On Monday, she came home after school hours and then left from home saying she was going to tuitions, but did not return home.

The incident came to light after a woman found a plastic bag containing a uniform and a school bag in a narrow alley. The woman handed them over to the nearby Garodi temple.

When the people at Garodi temple examined the school bag, they found Chaitra's identity card which also had her parents' details and number. Her father was immediately contacted and told about the incident.

Rangappa rushed to Garodi temple and identified the items as belonging to his daughter, and a search was conducted. However, Chaitra was nowhere to be found.

CCTV footage at Garodi temple revealed that Chaitra had entered the premises in uniform and left in casual clothes, and then taken the number 9 city bus from Garodi. It is not known why or where she was planning to go.

Kankanady police arrived at the spot and investigated.

The number 9 bus was then stopped for a few minutes, but the girl was not found and no one in the bus had any idea about where she had alighted.

A case has been registered in Kankanady police station and search for the missing girl is on.

The young girl is found missing under mysterious circumstances. The whole episode looks suspicious. If the clothes were found in her bag ... what did she wear when she went out of the temple?

Police have somewhat a difficult case to investigate. However they will surly solve the mystery.

It is quite obvious that the girl is going to some place, might have made plans to go out with friends. The images on cctv show her moving confidently. The police might be able get a start, if they start to question her friends. We only hope that she returns home safe and sound. I do not think those poor parents need any more heartache.
