Mangaluru, Aug 12: Konkani natak sabha(KNS) Mangaluru organized the 52nd inter parish singing competition for the age group of above 15 years of different parishes of Mangaluru diocese at Don Bosco hall here on Sunday August 9.

The competition was inaugurated by Fr Peter Cyprian D’Souza, the president of KNS by lighting the lamp along with office bearers.

The competition was held in two parts - outside city parishes and city parishes in the categories of above 15 years.

102 competitors from twelve parishes took part in the outside parishes for the solo, duet, mixed group and married couple. Gurpur, Nithyadahar Nagar and Fajir Parishes bagged the first, second and third place respectively.

Gurpur Parish bagged overall championship in the children and adults category among outside city parishes.

Among the city parishes, 107 competitors from eleven parishes took part in solo, duet, mixed group and married couple. Cordel parish bagged the first place, Bajjodi and Bejai parish the second and Cascia parish the third place.

Meera Crasta, Roshan Martis and Alwyn Noronha were the judges.

Fr Cyprian Peter D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Raymond D’Cunha and Dolphy Saldanha compered. General Secretary Sunil Menezes proposed vote of thanks. Convenor Jossy Theodore announced the results. Vice President Prem Lobo introduced the judges.
