Udupi, Aug 13: The state government has, surprisingly, transferred two tahsildars to a single vacancy of tahsildar (grade 2) in the municipal section at the office of the district deputy commissioner here.
Gayatri N Nayak, Kundapur tahsildar, and Beltangady tahisldar, Putta Shetty, have been transferred to this post. Both are in a dilemma as they are unable to hand over charge to new incumbents and report for duty at their new place of posting, as no one has been posted in their respective places.
The tahsildar here, T G Guruprasad, has been transferred as Bantwal tahsildar. Unless the state government modifies a couple of transfer orders and fill up two vacancies of the above two tahsildars and also posts one of these two tahsildars elsewhere, confusion will remain.
