New York, Aug 15 (IANS): The US dollar traded mixed against other major currencies on Friday amid the country's strong economic data.
The US Producer Price Index for final demand advanced 0.2 percent in July, beating market consensus of 0.1-percent gain, the Labour Department said Friday.
Meanwhile, industrial production increased 0.6 percent in July after moving up 0.1 percent in June, the Federal Reserve said on Friday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, was up 0.10 percent at 96.545 in late trading.
In late New York trading, the euro fell to $1.1119 from $1.1135 in the previous session, and the British pound climbed to $1.5651 from $1.5612 in the previous session. The Australian dollar rose to $0.7380 from $0.7359.
The US dollar bought 124.26 Japanese yen, lower than 124.45 yen of the previous session. The greenback hiked to 0.9773 Swiss franc from 0.9770 Swiss franc, and inched up to 1.3076 Canadian dollars from 1.3070 Canadian dollars.
