Mangalore, Jun 14: The facilities provided by the government to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) reach some communities only whereas others are deprived of the same, said the Chairman of SC & ST Commission Nehru C Olekar here on Wednesday June 13.

This card will help the Commission to keep track of the people making use of the schemes and those misusing the same. This in turn will help the Commission to reach out to non-beneficiaries more effectively.

During his visit to the district he would also make door-to-door surveys of various talukas, to guage for himself whether the government schemes have been properly implemented and have thereby reached the beneficiaries.

The Commission chairman said instructions had been given to zilla Panchayat chief executive officers and the executive officers of gram and taluk panchayat to take proper measures to spend the money allotted to SCs and STs.

DK zilla panchayat's chief executive officer A M Kunjappa and additional superintendent of police Lokesh Kumar too were present on this occasion.
