Chinese shares open higher

Beijing, Aug 18 (IANS): Chinese stocks opened higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.14 percent to open at 3,999.13 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index opened 0.26 percent higher at 13,608.52, Xinhua reported.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, opened 0.31 percent higher at 2,674.42 points.
