Bantwal: Five injured in collision between two private buses

Bantwal, Aug 19: Seven persons were injured, two of them seriously, after two private buses got involved with collision near Saradka check post on Kalladka-Cherkala inter-state highway near Vittal in the taluk on Tuesday August 18.

A private bus that was moving towards Perla from Vittal was hit by a bus that was coming from the direction of Kasargod at the above spot. Due to the impact of the collision, one of the buses was pushed to the side of the road. The front portion of the buses and the spot where driver's seat is located, were badly damaged.

Srividya (26) from Padre and Nalini (26) from Adkasthala, suffered serious injuries. Five passengers including Mokshita (19) from Maniyampare, Nalini (19) from Perla and Prajna (17) from Katukukke were injured. They were admitted into the government hospital at Puttur through ambulance.

Vittal police visited the spot, made inquiries, and registered a case.
