Chinese shares open lower on Wednesday

Beijing, Sep 2 (IANS): Chinese stocks opened lower on Wednesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 4.39 percent at 3,027.68 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index opened 4.61 percent lower at 9,694.48 points, Xinhua news agency reported.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, opened 5.39 percent lower at 1,787.71 points.
