Kasargod: Man arrested for selling hired cars

Kasargod, Sep 22: A person who was selling cars which he used to take on hire, has been arrested. 

Mohammed Hanif (40) from Talapady is the person arrested.



The arrest was made at Talapady by Kozhikode police. Police have also seized 6 cars from the accused.

The police had arrived investigating a case registered at Kozhikode police station. Mohammed Hanif was taking cars on rent from different places and then using them to transport liquor to Mangaluru and Bengaluru and to commit thefts. Ultimately the cars would be sold. So far he has sold more than 20 cars, it is revealed.

A car theft case was also lodged at Kozhikode police station against him.

Hanif was the accused in the murder case of Sameer ar Kumble Arikkadu seven years back. He was released on bail after spending time in jail on the case.

Hanif is also accused in cheating women through marriage. It is said that he has more than one wife. Police said he is wanted in several criminal cases.
