Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Sep 22: Though the official holiday for Bakrid has been declared for September 25 in the state, schools and colleges in Dakshina Kannada will remain closed a day earlier as the festival falls on September 24 in the district.

The holiday was declared by deputy commissioner A B Ibrahim in an order on Tuesday September 22.

Accordingly, exams scheduled in schools and colleges on September 24 will be postponed to September 25 or any other day as per the discretion of the schools/colleges.

Earlier, the United Muslim Organization, DK district and other Muslim bodies had submitted a memorandum to the DC urging him to declare September 24 as holiday for the convenience of Muslim students across the district.

Eid mubarak to all daiji readers.
I wish prosperity ,tranquility and mainly victory against communalism.Let's strive to make Mangalore a better place to live for our future generations.Let's get back to developmental works.
Lets not get provoked by "cut off, chop off" dialogues .Let's not fight in the name of religion.
Lastly i request all of you to pray for our brothers and sisters in humanity who have set off for hajj journey to be successful.Hajj is a very difficult task which should be done in same way like our father Ibrahim and Hazra bi(pbut) had done. Its not easy to run from one mountain to other end of mountain 7 times chanting God's name.Today Is Arafath day where pilgrims have to stay in a tent bearing sunny day.May Allah shower his mercy upon them.

As per Old Testament Chapter of Bible, God Tested Abraham (Ibrahim)'s faith on Him and Ordered him to Sacrifice his Only Beloved Son Issac on the Mount in his Dreams. Accordingly Abraham left his Home along with his only beloved son Issac to Sacrifice him on the Mount directed by God. It is at the time of Sacrificing his Son, God ordered him to put down his Sword and do no Harm on his Son as Abraham's actions were directed to the Sacrifice demanded by God to test his unconditional faith on Him. Thus, God blessed Abraham (Ibrahim) still more and to the Ages to come as a Father of Righteousness and Obedience and Abraham (Ibrahim) a Great Prophet of all the Ages Remains as a Forefather of Righteousness for All specially for the Christians and Muslim brethren's faith.

Greeting of Bakrid Festival to All my Muslims Brethren as well as a Call to Christians to remember the Great Sacrifice which Abraham had set to be faithful to God the Almighty.

    Eid Mubarak

We must be thankful to our elders that in India we have dozens of festivals and all are being predicted for 1000s of years precisely. I always wonder how they were calculating the dates which has no connection to English calendar but it is linked to solar and moon movements. they can predict the ganesha, dewali or pongal and even sunrise/set not for just 2016, even for 3016 without touching computers.. absolutely no confusion. only in adhika maasa months, they need to spend more time it seems.. so proud of the advancement of our forefathers.
