Kasargod, Sep 22: A real estate businessman was bludgeoned to death allegedly by his brother at Uppala here on Tuesday September 22.
The deceased is Karunakar Bhandary (48) of Mulinja.
The incident took place near Aila ground. It is said that Karunakar was riding a two-wheeler when he was stopped and brutally attacked with a heavy stone and iron rods.
A critically injured Karunakar was admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru, where he breathed his last in the evening.
It is suspected that property dispute led to the murder.
Karunkar was running a real estate firm and a finance company in Uppala. He and his brother Nagaraj were involved in a property dispute from sometime, sources said. There were also some financial disputes with some persons, it is gathered.
The Manjeshwar police have taken Nagaraj into custody.
Manjeshwar police have registered a case and investigations are on.
