Daijiworld Media Network - Shivamogga (RJP)

Shivamogga, Sep 23: A boy has made his parents and village proud by saving his younger sister who fell into an open well.

The incident happened at Kallur in Hosanagar taluk of the district.

Nishanth, aged 6, is the brave boy who did the impossible. He studies in the first standard. The family of Nishanth had gone to the well inside their estate for the immersion of Lord Ganesha idol. All came back home but Nishanth and his sister Kushi, aged two-and-half years remained in the estate to play.

Imitating the elders, the little girl while playing made a small Ganesha from mud and went to immerse it in the well, and accidentally slipped and fell into it. Nishanth, without a second thought, jumped into the 15 feet deep well and managed to save Kushi from drowning. But he could not bring her up. He shouted repeatedly for help and luckily, workers in the estate heard him and saved the children.

Nishanth and Kushi are children of Umakanth and Shubha.

Well done Nishanth. May God bless you with such courage to do more things like this in the future. Parents should be cautious not to leave young children near ponds / wells / rivers etc. They should take them along with. Don't leave them alone and unnoticed. Thanks God for the safety of Children.

Very true. This does not show the parents Umakanth and Shuba in good light. Irresponsible to say the least.
